Abstract

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon the noblest of creation and messengers, our master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

My research is entitled: “Jurisprudential Maxims and Regulations Extracted from the Book al-Mustasfa by Imam Hafiz al-Din al-Nasafi (d. 710 AH), the Book of Purification, Chapter: What Has Been Reported Regarding Leftover Water (Su’r): A Compilation and Study”. This study has been submitted to the Journal of the College of Islamic Sciences at Tikrit University.

The research consists of an introduction and one main section that includes a preface and four subsections. The introduction explains the importance of knowledge in general and Islamic jurisprudence in particular, due to its significance for the legally accountable person and its role in reforming both the individual and society. The preface provides a definition of the jurisprudential maxim in its linguistic and technical meanings.
