Abstract

Covering a woman's face is a teaching of Islamic law. Some schools of thought consider it obligatory, while others consider it recommended. However, the matter differs for a woman in ihram for Hajj or Umrah due to the crowding and mixing of men and women. In these cases, the woman's need for the niqab is greater to cover her face when passing by unrelated men. On the other hand, a woman's ihram involves covering her face, which necessitates uncovering it. Therefore, the research plan includes: an introduction addressing the importance of the topic, the reasons for choosing it, the methodology used, and the research problem; and two sections: the first explaining the meanings of the terms, and the second addressing the ruling on the niqab for a woman in ihram.
